Once upon a time there was a boy who has a great passion for learning the English language – no need to mention that English was his second language. He was not from a rich family and could not afford all those high quality book from great authors of English, could not even afford grammar books like “Intermediate English Grammar” and suprisingly he did not even heard of it. One day a teacher of his school told him the name and said that it was worth to read than any other grammar book available on the market.
One day he asked his teacher to lend him that book but the teacher replied “One day a student of mine took the grammar book for someday and never gave back and I had to buy another one.” The boy was really honest and his teacher knew that but lo he did not lend him the book implying that the boy would not return the book !
He gave up the hope to buy such grammar for he had a torn grammar book given to him by one of his relative. But he desperately needed a Dictionary and he did not think to compromise with it. From many people he learned that Oxford Dictionary was the globe’s best dictionary. But he was somehow afraid that he would not be able to use that for it was English to English and wished if someone translate it into his native language.
One day he went to visit a paternal aunt of him far from his village and saw his very desired dictionary to his cousin: he saw many illustrations and suprisingly to him those was colourful, many many examples that he ever seen in any dictionary, and etc. etc. Still he was afraid that he would not be able to read that for it was not very easy English to him but he became more attracted to it as it seemed an adventure to him.
The poor student of great mind and enthusiasm did not stop by much such obstacles but tried to gain knowledge whatever is available to him.
He used to hear that the internet was the greatest resource of information, book and every and each learning tolls and all for free but he did not know that people have to pay for net connection. Most important of that he would never buy a computer as he is poor.
One day he heard that many works of computer can be done by mobile. So, he thought it would be a effective way to fulfil his dream. And so he worked hard and saved some money and one day he could able to buy a second hand mobile from secondhand market.
Now he after experiencing some odds and surprises got oneself plugged into the WWW and searched for his dreams but disappointed too much not finding the path to his dream once more. He searched the net for “Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary for Mobile”, “Intermediate English Grammar For Mobile Phone”, “Encyclopedia Britannica For Mobile” “English learning book for mobile”, ” Shakespeare Stories for mobile ” and on and on. And most important of all he could on longer bear the cost of internet connection. . . . . . . . . . the days gone, gone the months, and also went the years. . . . . .he did not gave up the hope. . . . . . .
After many days he once again went to the internet by his mobile and searched all day long and at last he found a website www.mobipocket.com that was about to fulfill his dream completely for everything he wanted was present there . . . . . . . but greatest disappointment comes aftermat . . . . . He saw that he had to pay too much – suprisingly more price than any paper book he knew and also more than the price his mobile cost (second hand). . . . .
More surprise came over him whe he saw that he have to pay by something called Credit Card. He never ever saw a credit card nor other people around him – even only heard a very few times and that was a myth to him to pay by just a small plastic than money made of metal or paper. . . . .
Do you know what happened next ?
End of nightmares : One day a studene from that village was gossiping with me and suddenly he told me the story of that boy and also remarked that it was too much ridiculous to think to have Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary (OALD) in mobile. First, I patiently and surprisingly heard the story and told him hat it was possible and I managed to get the dictionary file from one of my known computer and internet geek. Then have that file to the boy who told me the story and asked him to give that to that poor boy. . . .
After that sadly I never had opportunity to meet the story teller boy and not to mention that poor and very-interested-in-english boy. . . . But I am happy that I was able to help that boy who lived in darkness and nightmares.
I was sitting idle now – a cloudy and thundering afternoo with my mobile and suddenly thought that there are many people out there who may not able to get this precious English dictionary file that can be read and searched on a mobile and not to mention on almost any PCs. Also you can read it on Kindel, iRex etc. devices.

I was surprised with this site as well. I have never known that we can install oxford dictionary on mobile phone yet I try to find it because I would like to check vocabulary with the definition and sound, and I have to start up my laptop every time. It is such boring; at last I have found your site. So I would like to say thank you to your kindness.

please help me.
Brother to use this dictionary you need MobiPocket Reader. But I’m so sorry to tell you that Mobipocket.com did not yet make any nokia touchscreen supported reader and never will because in 2007 they stopped development work. Still you can install mobipocket reader from mobile.mobipocket.com to your mobile: download the version for s60v3 like for n95 but it might be waste of time. Instead download MSDICT dictionaries to your mobile from http://www.mobisystems.com there are plenty of very good english dictionaries. Choose Symbian S60 5th Edition category on the page and download whatever you want. But you will only get 30 days trial. Search online for cracked version or use the trick I used to do for getting 30 days trial for forever.
